Lifting Individuals For Tomorrow

Tri-County Education Foundation, Inc.

Gary and Liz Wysocki, along with their children, Luke, Anna and Rosie, joined the Plainfield area community when they moved their family in the fall of 1998. Their children were starting 4th, 3rd, and 1st grade at the time. They joined and were active leaders in St Paul's Church, Almond 4H Busy Bees, and the Plainfield Lions Club, as well as members of HCE and the Quilt club. Liz was on the Tri-County school board from 2000-2007. The Tri-County school system gave their children the education and personal foundation to go on to successful careers in engineering, medicine and teaching.

As retirement neared, Gary and Liz were seeking an answer to the question,
"What is it that can make a major and lasting impact on a Community?” They sought out church leaders, school teachers and administrators, members in law enforcement, as well as community officials and other leaders for their thoughts and ideas. Overwhelmingly, their answers centered on the education of our youth. They were also told that many of the individuals that pursue skilled trades and professional careers go on to be leaders in a community.

One thing life has taught Liz and Gary is that the formative years following high school are pivotal in solidifying a person's foundation and future life plans. Their post-high school education years have affected the last 40 years of their lives and community in innumerable positive ways. They credit their post-high school education in bringing them together, and allowing Dr. Liz to serve this community. It is the hope of the Wysocki family that these scholarships encourage more young people to have and go after a dream once thought out of reach. They are truly excited to see young individuals start their next chapter in life and ultimately help build our community.

During 2021, Gary approached Mr. Anthony Marinack, superintendent of Tri-County Area Schools, with the idea of creating a Tri-County Education Foundation, Inc. as a conduit to making the scholarship opportunity work for the graduates of Tri-County High School. The year-long process took place and was finished in spring of 2022, and a foundation was established. It is with the generosity of the Wysocki family that the LIFT Scholarship has been made possible.
