Yesterday, Ms. Graebel's class took a hands-on approach to learning by heading to the store to shop for the upcoming School Forest Trip! 🏕️🔥 Students were tasked with budgeting and planning meals to feed around 50 people on Friday. 💰📋 They worked together to make smart choices, compare prices, and ensure everyone will have delicious, campfire-ready meals!

Mrs. Detlor’s 2nd Graders completed a personal narrative writing unit. The class worked hard throughout the unit, learning how to make the characters in their narratives talk, move, think, and feel. They used new techniques like ellipses and quotation marks. In their final copy, students included an All About the Author page, cover, and colored illustrations. They had a writing celebration where students read their personal narratives to one another. These personal narratives are a must-see! #2ndgradewriters #personalnarratives #2ndgradeROCKS

Snowflakes, snowflakes, snowflakes! This was the theme for today's ExCEL Play Group. After playing, the children listened to "Ten Sparkly Snowflakes" and received their own book and pictures to retell the story. We counted snowflakes to 20, danced to the Winter Hokey Pokey, and had fun with the Snow Action Song! After that, the kids had the chance to make paper snowflakes and create a snowy winter scene. As if that wasn't enough, we made snowflakes out of pretzels and marshmallows for snack! They were delicious! If you haven't joined us yet, our next play group is February 28th at 9 am. Hope to see you there!
