Today students and staff at Tri-County participated in the Great Apple Crunch! They enjoyed locally sourced apples from Decker Family Farms. The Great Apple Crunch is an annual October event that promotes local food purchasing and encourages healthy eating during National Farm to School Month. For this simple event, schools, organizations, and households across Wisconsin and throughout the Midwest region commit to crunch into local apples in October. Last year, nearly two million participants crunched into locally grown apples across the Midwest region. The Great Apple Crunch is celebrated across Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Iowa, and Ohio.
One of the Crunch’s main goals is to celebrate seasonal foods and to generate excitement around local foods and agriculture. The event highlights farm-to-school, increases appetites for regionally and locally grown produce, and supports Wisconsin apple growers. The Crunch encourages Wisconsin schools and other institutions to increase local options in cafeterias, keeping local dollars in the community and benefiting local apple producers.

Artist of the Week - Fatimah Almatrood is a 6th grade student in art. Fatimah has shown excellent talent already this school year! This acrylic painting she created measures 12" x 9". Her contrasting colors and balance created a dynamic piece. Last week she sculpted a beautiful clay project that she will get to glaze this week. We are excited to see the wonderful things Fatimah will make in art this school year.

There are only 10 spots open! Grab your group and join us for a night of fun!

Building Skills That Last!
Mr. Semrow’s Construction students are putting their knowledge to work—literally! 💪 They recently prepped and poured concrete for a brand-new sidewalk leading to the pickleball courts, and also removed and replaced the old shotput pad with a fresh installation.
This dual credit Mid-State Technical College course combines theory with practice, allowing students to take what they learn in the classroom and turn it into hands-on experience. “It’s real hard to understand construction without getting your hands a little dirty.”
